These lists are basically experiments, collections and combinations of concepts and ideas, thought up or taken from various sources, in an attempt to illustrate/illuminate differences between the types, their uniqueness, some new angles of interpretation that might be helpful for typing and/or learning about typology, etc. (In fact, they could be considered an extension of the facets method for typing). I have a few of them already prepared, and I’ll probably make more later.
Some lists are essentially speculative word games, with not too much behind them, but with the possibility of opening new perspectives. Others might come directly from previous [longer] posts, because it’s useful to find them out of context, too, and be able to add, compare and contrast them with other lists, for example. The ones taken from other authors/sources [and then very often slightly edited, mixed, etc] might contradict some of the things I post here, and some lists might seem to go against each other, too, but I’ll try to keep all that to a minimum. Still, a little disparity now and then is good because it keeps you from getting too comfortable with the way you look at things.
And speaking of comfort: whenever you find an MBTI list, not just here but anywhere, don’t read only the point about your [supposed] type. Don’t take this as some kind of stamp collection, where you merely gather [mis]information about what you already know/want. Forget about your type for a moment and examine all of them. You might learn something even more important if you analyze the whole landscape, and the approach itself, instead of particular items/words.

This list is based on the only potentially useful aspect of Socionics: the descriptions given by the different socionists (Gulenko, Filatova, etc). Not every author or item of information is reliable, of course (sometimes it looks like they are mixing several types in the same code, and they also keep making changes and variations), but reading through the various profiles you can get what they seem to be talking about, and you can find the best-fitting correlations (assuming you already know about the issues within the MBTI itself). All the Socionics’ ideas about “elements”, “functions”, “blocks”, “quadras” and “relations” are useless because they come from completely incorrect foundations, so you need to ignore them when they appear in the texts, and try to see where they might be misleading the writers a bit too much. The correspondence between the dichotomies and the real cognitive functions is wrong both in MBTI and Socionics (the correct one is included below).

There are other collections of Socionics profiles out there, like for example this one, which follows a different correlation. They seem to have fixed some stuff here, but the INFs are still switched, and there are other things that don’t fit, like the false “suicidal” stereotype of INFPs (which contradicts page 21), or the fact that many INFJs can actually be very religious/spiritual.

In this composite interpretation, when the temperament is primary the main source/focus is the person (internal), and when it’s secondary it looks more to his/her surroundings (external), which include other people. (Consequently, the “pure” ones apply their temperament to both sides, to everything). This approach is a surprisingly good alternative to the ideas of introversion and extraversion, and it’s probably closer to the one that a lot of people have. (In fact, the different forms of secondary temperament might have been what Keirsey noticed and used to determine his 4 groups: SJ/SP/NT/NF, and the primary corresponds to Berens’ “Interaction Styles”).
The four sanguines (first group below, all extraverts) want to enjoy all kinds of things. They are essentially hyperactive, in a very obvious but not-actually-controlling manner, that is: they don’t have the choleric “internal tension-push”, they move events and others but in a different way (“funny”, “pleasant”, “impertinent”, etc). Secondary sanguines (SP) just enjoy groups from time to time, like “normal” people. The four melancholics (second group, all introverts) are those who work a lot in private, in their own projects, with their own systems/ways, their own [search for] “perfection”, etc. Secondary melancholics (SJ) have, want or apply some [representation] of that around them. The four cholerics (third group, extraverts) want to determine outcomes and accomplish things, and the four phlegmatics (fourth group, introverts) want to really get to the bottom, and understand. Secondary cholerics (NT) define some external space, scope or angle for achievement (so they can be demanding in different ways), and secondary phlegmatics (NF) do the same with contemplation (this can include different forms of demonstration or guidance, for example).

This is just an experiment that tries to find some new perspective on the types, focusing on what each one does right, out of these four things: Timelessness, Abstraction, Romance and Freedom. I’ve merged the items when there’s more than one, trying to form some composite ideas, but you can turn them around and get something different if you want, or just take the words separately. From the perspective of the other types, the sentences below try to reflect what’s often considered [part of] what [some] people of that type “believe”. It’s a manifestation of the interrelation between the dominant function (X1) and the auxiliary (X2): how X1 is basically existence itself, something beyond instances and numbers, and how X2 is manifold and diversified, something that comes from and concretizes X1 (so “X1 applies to or takes form in various X2s”).
As usual, the words are figurative: “being” includes all kinds of living forms, taken as particular sensory experiences (maybe even “energy”), “life” means life in a metaphysical sense (perhaps “soul” as blank essence), “identity” could also be called “mind” or “intellect”, some “games” are competitions, sometimes “worlds” is also people, etc. The prepositions are more or less interchangeable (especially in this way: as↔in and for↔through), and I guess you could use “with” instead of “as”, too. Anyway, I hope you get the idea, this is the kind of indefinite complexity that springs from the functions.

INFJ (Fi-Ni-Se-Te): Same heart through different lives
INFP (Ni-Fi-Te-Se): Same life in different hearts
This can be helpful for identifying somebody’s J/P. In the classic INFJ/INFP problem, for example, the one who really believes in things like fate or destiny is the INFJ (Fi-Ni-Se-Te), not the INFP (Ni-Fi-Te-Se). Something similar happens with INTJ/INTP. The idea is that INJs’ auxiliary Ni is not “free” (independent), so their changes are somehow directed or [pre]determined, creating a sort of “hierarchical multiplicity of lives”, similar to the hierarchical multiplicity of dreams in Inception, which could be a kind of auxiliary-Si equivalent. In the case of INFJs there’s the added effect of their Te4 and its corresponding gTi4 (ISFJs have these, too), which can generate the illusion of past/future identities, that is: reincarnation, following what I explain in post #131. You can find an example of this in the movie Dark City. (People with other types might have different definitions of reincarnation, but I think the ones who may take it somehow seriously tend to be Js).

This is a companion list to MBTI List 16. The terms are intended as the opposite of Timelessness, Abstraction, Romance and Freedom, and the list tries to say what is it that each type does right within those options. I’m not going to make another set of posts explaining what this is about, mostly because the original ones can already be read more or less like that, using these alternate titles:
✸ Ps Do Commitment Wrong. Js Do Commitment Right.
✸ Fs Do Detachment Wrong. Ts Do Detachment Right.
✸ Ns Do Concreteness Wrong. Ss Do Concreteness Right.
✸ Is Do Relevancy Wrong. Es Do Relevancy Right.
In both lists the pairs can be used to check what each type lacks, for example INTJ’s “detached commitment” is many times not relevant to the situation, and too abstract. And finally, both lists can be combined in one, for example ESTP: Relevant Concrete Detached Freedom, ISFJ: Timeless Concrete Romantic Commitment, etc.
ENFP (Ne-Fe-Ti-Si): Relevancy.
ISTJ (Ti-Si-Ne-Fe): Concrete Detached Commitment.

Something to keep in mind is that a good part of what Jung mentions here is relevant when it comes to extreme cases (marked types) and particular states or situations, but many people are normal/balanced types, so for them some things might seem exaggerated or just not applicable. Apart from that, he repeats several ideas in different types, for example general introversion traits in the Ti section, so I’ve tried to avoid that and focus on more specific particularities. The previous list is a very appropriate complement, of course, so remember to check it out, too.
